Adults Annotated Alicia Events

What’s Happening at the Library?

By on April 9, 2015

One of the challenges of the Adult Services Librarian is finding or creating great programming for the grown-ups; finding things that are interesting and fun and an escape from the usual fare. Book clubs are good, but we strive to do more and give more. This month I have 4 events for adults and/or families, and I hope you find something enjoyable. Below is a list of the programming for adults and their families in April. Remember, all events are free to the public.

April 16, 23, 30 @ 10:30 am – Back to Basics Nutrition Classes. Part 1 is the basics of nutrition. The second class covers how to make the most of your grocery budget while still eating healthily. The last class goes over safe food storage.  18 and over please.

April 18 @ 3 pm -Jerry Barlow, Celtic fingerstyle guitarist and storyteller, in concert.  All ages welcome.

April 22, 7-9 pm – Improv Essentials: Join performers from the Circus Freaks and members of the Open Stage variety show for a workshop in the fundamentals of improv comedy, theory and other theatrical shenanigans.* Ideal for ages 11 and up.
*Also suitable as a spectactor sport.

April 25 @ 10:30 am – S Security Retirement Financial Advisors give a presentation on how to prepare for life after 9-5.

We also have a knitting group that meets every Wednesday at 1 pm and more fun things planned in the months to come. Stay tuned!
