Teen Library Council is our monthly volunteer program that allows teens to participate in creating and implementing teen library programming. TLC consists of 12 volunteers (ages 13-18) who actively promote teen library programs.

All positions in Teen Library Council are currently full. If you are interested in applying for the 2018-2019 year, check back here beginning April 1, 2018.

What are the requirements?

To be a teen volunteer, students must be aged 11 to 18, or between grades 6 through 12, (or going into the 6th grade if signing up for summer activities.) There are some activities that require older teens, so be sure to read the descriptions carefully before signing up.

You must also:

  • Arrive on time and ready work with a pleasant and helpful attitude
  • Be courteous and respectful to all staff members and library patrons
  • Follow instructions and stick to your assigned task (unless otherwise instructed)

How do I sign up?

Volunteer activities are scheduled on a first-come-first-serve basis through Volunteer Spot.

The exception to this (for now) are summer reading table volunteers. You will still need to schedule with me via email, or may see me at the library.

What if I need to cancel?

Please notify Sarah directly via email or phone at least 24 hours before your scheduled volunteer spot if you wish to cancel. You may also cancel on Volunteer Spot, but must still send an email, or you’ll be counted as a no-show. If you are a no-show twice, or cancel to often, you may not be allowed to volunteer for a period of time, as determined by Sarah or the library manager.

How do I get my forms signed?

If you have time-sheets or other forms from school that have to be signed, either bring them with you at the time of the activity, or contact Sarah so she can schedule a time for you to get the necessary signatures.

Letters of Recommendation
